Svart Hotel | Norway
The Svart Hotel in Norway combines luxury and sustainability in a groundbreaking way. As the world’s first energy-positive hotel, it generates more energy than it consumes. Learn how innovative architecture and self-sufficient technologies are revolutionizing tourism.
Svart's pre-opening hotel marketing creates climate-relevant change in the hotel industry
The idea behind Svart is to create an energy-positive hotel. Svart aims to raise awareness about our energy consumption. With a focus on creating a self-sufficient hotel, Svart has already won its first awards, including Best Futura Project Winner 2021. With their sustainable and innovative approach to construction and the project's distinctive design, founders MIRIS, Snøhetta and Powerhouse aim to generate more energy than it consumes and use 85 percent less energy overall than the average hotel industry.

Project Svart will be completely off-grid after 5 years
The concept behind Svart is impressive and progressive, characterized by the awareness of the founders. The circular design optimizes energy consumption and even resources are to be completely self-sufficient through three sustainably managed farms. The founders' motto is "direct from farm to plate". Not only the electricity, but also the water supply and waste management will be completely independent of external circumstances. Even the pillars directly above the fjord on which the hotel stands are made of wood, so that the architecture of the building has the least impact on the seabed.
No compromise on luxury, wellness and well-being
Svart focuses on the idea that wellness and luxury are possible without restrictions, even if the consumption of resources is as low as possible. The project already focuses on the reopening marketing of the hotel on the label brand strategy of a luxury hotel where every guest can experience adventure in harmony with nature, to find their wonder and tranquility in nature as well as the Northern Lights.
