Renovation and Repositioning: A Hotel like No Other

The original A-shaped building was designed by Richard Clements Jr., first owner and architect of Timber Cove, and built in 1963. Richard Clements was inspired by the unique style of Frank Lloyd Wright, one of the most important architects of the 20th century. Clements decided to tuck the unique structure into a sandstone outcropping and used a variety of local materials, including redwood elements that still stand out today.

In 2016, Timber Cove was renovated and subsequently repositioned. The primary emphasis was on preserving the iconic architecture and artistic soul of Timber Cove, while incorporating the comforts of a modern resort into the new structure. In this way, the new resort unites modern amenities with historic charm.

Interior Design: Modern Meets Retro

The unique interiors of the resort were created by the designer duo “The Novogratz” and feature an earthy color palette. Guests can immerse themselves in the Californian lifestyle by listening to the vinyl collections in the rooms or by exploring the incredible natural surroundings.
