JAMS Music Hotel | Munich (Germany)
The JAMS Music Hotel in Munich combines stylish design with a unique musical atmosphere. A hotel experience for music lovers and design enthusiasts.
How Music Becomes a Brand Experience
The JAMS Boutique Hotel, which opened in spring 2019, is the first music hotel in Munich. The operators, real estate developer Alexander Kaufmann and host Ulrich Demetz, developed the themed concept down to the smallest detail. Through clever storytelling, guests are immersed in the musical Munich of the 1970s.
The newly renovated former Hotel Preysing in the trendy district of Haidhausen has 64 rooms and suites in three categories as well as the restaurant 33rpm with bar. The theme of music is omnipresent throughout the hotel. Vinyl records can be borrowed at the reception desk, and every room has its own record player. In addition, the upscale retro decor includes fabric wallpaper, room-wide windowsills overlooking the city, modern art, and design, color, and material combinations that bring the 1970s back to life.

The JAMS Hotel as a Journey Through Time
In the elevator, a different music legend greets guests on each floor. The JAMS Restaurant & Bar is decorated throughout in the retro look of the 1970s, with the black grooves of vinyl throughout. Whether it is the bar, the tables, the lamps, the wall coverings or the menus - the theme of music is taken up everywhere and transformed into a coherent overall concept with a cozy and stylish ambience. The lifestyle hotel presents itself atmospherically as a place from a journey through time, yet absolutely trendy.
Uli Demetz, who comes from a family of South Tyrolean hoteliers and was formerly Director of Development for Motel One, explains his new project: "My goal is to make JAMS a cosmopolitan insider tip for travelers and locals in Munich.
