€500,000 for the FutureLab NETA
As part of the presentation of "Plan T - Master Plan for Tourism" initiated by the Austrian Ministry of Tourism, a special budget of €500,000 was released for the Austrian National Tourist Office. This will be invested in the establishment of the FutureLab "NETA" (Next Level Tourism Austria). In cooperation with the Austrian National Tourist Office, the provinces, destinations and companies, as well as start-ups and technology companies from outside the industry, new tools are being developed and tested for their potential application in Austrian tourism. These range from price and booking forecasting models to tools for visitor flow management in destinations and augmented reality applications in tourism.
NETA Strengthens Austria’s Digital Tourism
"The special funds made available to Österreich Werbung by the BMNT (Federal Ministry for Sustainability and Tourism) for the topic of digitalisation are an extremely important signal for Austria as a tourism location. We must actively use the opportunities offered by digitalisation in order to remain competitive in a global environment driven by innovation and data. With 'Next Level Tourism Austria - NETA', we are creating an innovation hub for the entire tourism industry to work together on the relevant technological and social developments between supply and demand," says Petra Stolba, Managing Director of the Austrian National Tourist Office.
