At the Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp, historic charm meets modern innovation. Discover how this luxury hotel concept combines tradition with contemporary hospitality – from exquisite cuisine to a unique wellbeing experience in the heart of Antwerp.

Luxury Retreat in the Heart of Antwerp

The only 5-star superior hotel in Belgium is located in a former monastery. Purist aesthetics, design and tranquility, coupled with a special location in the middle of the Botanical Garden of Antwerp, make the concept unique. What makes this luxury hotel concept so special is, on the one hand, the building itself, a former monastery dating back to the 15th century.

On the other hand, the exceptional location of the property in the middle of its own botanical garden. The entire hotel is dedicated to purism, proving that luxury does not mean opulence.Divided into four buildings and 20,000 square meters of gardens, the hotel offers plenty of space, privacy and retreat both indoors and out.

The time-honored brick architecture of the monastery has been preserved, and the interiors embrace the Wabi-Sabi style of living with its key elements of tranquility, naturalness, and spirituality. Each of the total of 108 rooms and suites is unique, but all of them reflect the historic style of the monastery and allow guests to look out into the green oasis of the city.

Indulgence, Events & Relaxation

The Botanic Sanctuary is a unique gourmet mecca, with a total of 8 Michelin stars shining over its four venues: the 3-star Hertog Jan restaurant is making a comeback here with "The Revival of Hertog Jan"; other bistros and restaurants include Bar Bulon, Fine Fleur and The Botanic Restaurant, all with chefs and service staff from highly decorated kitchens. Events Area: 18 multi-function meeting rooms and a 300-seat auditorium provide ample business space. A large banquet hall and the hotel's own chapel complete the facilities for weddings and celebrations of all kinds. Finally, the spa area: The Botanic Health Spa focuses on a holistic approach using naturopathy, phytotherapy, traditional Chinese and European medicine, and ancient healing and prevention methods. The more than 2,000 herbs that grow in the surrounding botanical garden are also used. The entire hotel concept is thus based on the pillars of sensitivity, mindfulness and sustainable design. The Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp is part of the Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) group, which has more than 400 members worldwide. For more information, please visit the hotel's website.
