Follower

What are followers?

The term "follower" was largely coined by the social media platform Twitter and refers to people who follow specific content, other people, interests, or businesses such as hotels.

Followers on Twitter

On Twitter, every user has a timeline that displays certain posts, also called tweets. Becoming a follower of an account not only displays its content on your timeline, but also gives you the opportunity to contact it directly. Meanwhile, the term follower is also used for subscribers of other social networks such as Instagram, Facebook, Flickr, Twitch, YouTube or TikTok.

Relevance of followers for hotel marketing

Often, the number of followers an account has is directly proportional to its reach and influence. The number of followers therefore serves as an important metric in many sub-disciplines of online marketing. Through social media marketing, for example, the number of followers can be increased and then used for targeted advertising.

In hotel influencer marketing, the number of followers also plays an important role in choosing the right influencer, but it is no longer the only factor. Quality now trumps quantity. More important than the number of followers are the interaction rates and the congruence between the influencer's followers and the hotel's target audience.

The most important questions about followers:

How can my hotel get more followers on Instragram?

The basis for an ideal Instagram presence with high reach and many followers is an attractive, continuously maintained business account. Here are some general tips to keep in mind:

+ Adapt graphics and content to your own hotel brand.

+ Post continuously, using ongoing analytics to find the best times of day.

+ Post specific content, i.e. content that suits your own target audience.

+ Constantly interacting with your own community

+ Use appropriate hashtags

+ Use user-generated content, i.e. content from hotel guests

+ Engage in cross-marketing

These general organic measures can be complemented by paid measures such as ads, collaborations or by working with appropriate influencers.

How can a hotel get more followers on TikTok?

Similar to Instagram, it is important to publish quality content - especially videos - on a regular basis. TikTok also rewards creativity and authenticity, as well as the use of hashtags and interaction with other accounts and your own community.

By the way, you don't need a hotel account to run paid ads on TikTok.<
