The term channel management describes the process of managing online distribution channels in hotels. These channels can be managed manually or automatically. The advantage of a channel management software is that data and information, like availability and room prices, are being automatically collected and updated on different platforms such as Booking, Expedia or HRS. Channel management allows hotels to maximize bookings and increase their revenue. Available rooms are instantly updated, leaving a very small margin for errors. Additionally, channel management offers the opportunity to increase prices when occupancy rates are high and thus generate additional revenue.
