Running a hotel with 23 rooms and suites such as "Il Paradis" Club Privé was the joint idea of owner Horst Rahe (Deutsche Seereederei CEO, who masterminded the successful cruise industry AIDA concept) and hotel director, Meike Bambach. As she explains, "We prefer an informal, understated concept of luxury. That is the style that we wish to promote". Originally from Germany, Meike Bambach ran the hotel for more than ten years before receiving the 2019 Swiss Hotelier of the Year Award in the Bilanz-Hotel Rankings for her innovative and creative spirit. Her personal approach to the hospitality industry is much appreciated and where guests can enjoy uncomplicated and discreet relaxation in an exclusive ambience.
The number of club members is deliberately capped at 200 members and limited to couples, thereby guaranteeing a more intimate atmosphere. New members pay a one-time registration fee (10,000 Swiss francs), which is refunded after the first three years of membership. The additional annual membership charge (starting at 8,500 Swiss francs) for a seven-day all-inclusive stay covers accommodation, consumption of food and beverages, leisure activities, luggage/ski storage, local chauffeur or a door-to-door service, ski pass, ski instructor, green surcharge, a cooking course at the hotel's own restaurant refuge at 2,200m and (for those with a pet) full board for their four-legged friends. Besides the Members Club, one can also join the Owners Club to purchase an actual share in the Bauhaus style property, which was built in 1910, or a suite. Single-day memberships are also available.
The luxury establishment can be hired as a conference venue and other events, the introductory packages are suitable for a try.
